End of credit card miles

Here is a link to a thread that suggests new EU regs on credit cards could stop flying club miles avios etc. I know a lot of members use cards to accrue miles and thought this might be of interest

Thanks for sharing. I selfishly hope this doesn't come into effect; although we fly a reasonable amount, I earn quite a few miles through the VS cards (white and black) and without them it would definitely limit our mile earning potential as we're not big Tesco shoppers.

There is nothing that I read in the flyer talk thread that indicates that there is anything in the proposed EU Regs that would prevent the awarding of airline miles.

Someone has made an assumption that if the EU limits the % that can be charged for using a credit or debit card then the CC companies will stop giving miles but that's a whole kettle of fish difference from the EU introducing a regulation to stop it happening.

Indeed, that entire thread is based on one person's pessimistic speculation about what might happen. Nothing to see here.
