Air Canada Advice

Hi, I am hoping that fellow V flyers might be able to assist me with a query regarding Air Canada. We are booked PE on AC855 to Vancouver next April, returning early May on AC854, AC have a sale on at present so seriously thinking of upgrading to BC, just waiting for cruise operator (booked as part of a package)to see if they can get the sale prices for upgrades. My question is does anyone know which aircraft AC use on the Heathrow-Vancouver route, I was thinking it would be a 777 but now understand they also have 787 aircraft, if they are operating 787 on this route I am more likely to swallow hard & book the upgrades.

Sorry to be so long winded, can anyone help?

Thanks in anticipation

Looks like it's scheduled to be a 77W.
Looks like you could get a Dreamliner if you go via Toronto?

I flew this exact route in August and it was a 77W both ways. I was keeping an eye on which equipment was used for quite a while before the flight and it always seems to be a 77W. They do seem to use the newer birds on this route though which are a maximum of a couple of years old.

Many thanks Matty P, positive that AC seem to use newer aircraft on this route. I think the 777's probably have two large seats together in BC rather than pods, this wouldn't be a bad thing as I am travelling with my partner, the VS UC seats imho are great when travelling alone but not so good when travelling with someone
