Question over difference in prices

I am flying to Barbados in December using points and taxes but do find it incredible that on VS website the cost for the same flight for 2 people is over £2400 in economy from Manchester.

However if I fly from Dublin to catch the same flight as I have booked the cost is 805 euros per person which equates to £1250 for 2 people. Where does the extra £1150 go for VS to be charging that.

well the simple answer is that it just goes to the VS bottom line.

The complicated answer involves airlines charging different prices for different markets - hence the whole ex-EU pricing - to attract custom that might well have flown on another airline.

A smaller part of the difference is starting the journey in DUB means there is no APD but in Y that's only £68

which dates? i just looked at prices, flying from manchester ranges from 665-ish to 1900+ per person

that's money only tickets, no miles spending

if you can be flexible on dates you should be able to get way better pricing than what you're seewing

There's december and there's DECEMBER. For instance, booking to Alicante way before christmas for a week is about 150 quid per person. Over christmas it triples.
