Hello I am flying back from Mumbai next week. My internal flight arrives several hours before the 2.20am take off. Doesn't anyone know what time check in opens as ideally I would like to check in and head through to the lounge as early as possible. Thanks

we're doing that flight in a few weeks, would be interested to hear how things go with check-in, passport control, lounge etc., and if there's anywhere nice to pass the time waiting for check-in to open...

VS website says checkin opens at 2310, also gives some other useful info

the bit about needing a copy of the eticket was a surprise

All Indian airports require you to present a paper version of your ticket and passport or ID to the CISF (security) gain access to the terminal. Meeters and Greeters cannot enter- if they could chaos would ensue.

Remember that your boarding pass and cabin bag tag ( you must have one) must be stamped by the CISF at central security and this will be checked at the gate. If not you will need to do an express double back to security- I know - I've done it!

Check in opened about 10.30. Beforehand at each end of the terminal there is business and first check in for some airlines - there are sofas etc you can use. No one really checks, but I did ask if UC check in was in this area- it wasn't. Also leads to a fast track security/passport area. Terminal is on par with HK/singapore. Lounge is temporary. Pleasant, but the new one, which is yet to open looks good from the pictures.
