Load check favour please

Would anyone be kind enough to do a load check for me for the VS401 DXB-LHR on Tues 25 Nov?

I tried checking by doing a dummy booking but for the last couple of weeks the VS website has been telling me that there is no flight for that date! Two of us are booked on that one (in Y) so it would be great to know how it's looking.

Thanks very much. y)

never seen that before, though normally only look when i'm travelling of course

wonder what's filling them up? i guess it's a positive sign if it helps keep the route

Can i ask for a loadcheck too please? Just curious.

It's a delta flight... DL1/VS5301 for 08/12.

Apparently there's the formula one in Abu Dhabi, and then some golf tournament (the Dubai masters? Is that a thing?). Not sure when they finish.

Thank you for this. So still lots of space all around.

What does the 85% mean? (if i was to hazard a guess, it means either 85% full or 85% capacity remaining)

85% relates to the on time performance of the flight.

From Expertflyer:

The Reliability is the On Time Percentage and the Average Delay in Minutes of the flight over the last two months.

You can look up the on time performance in a bit more detail with Expertflyer as well, so for that DL1 flight in the last 2 months:

Total number of flights = 62

Number of delays:
>15min = 3
>30min = 5
>45min = 1

I presume the other 53 flights all pushed-back within 15mins of the scheduled departure time.

Average delay = 32m
Max delay = 2h 44m

This might sound like a silly question to most, but what exactly is a load check, and how is one done?

A load check gives you an indication of how full a flight is, for those living in hope of bagging a cheap or free upgrade or who just like to know whether there's a chance the seats next to them will be free.

It'll tell you if there are fewer than 9 seats available to book in any particular fare bucket. So in the two examples above, the first with zeros across the board shows the flight is completely sold out. The second with nines across the board shows there are at least 9 seats available to book in every bucket. That could mean exactly 9 or it could mean 99, we don't know, but it suggests the flight's still pretty wide open.

Up until a month or so ago you could do them for free on Flightstats but now you have to use a subscription site like Expertflyer.
