More of an observation than anything else, I have been keeping an eye on flights to Johannesburg to see what the reward availability is like. Due to fly before xmas next year. I noticed a pattern change over the last few days. Looking further into it it looks like the route changes over to a 787-9 on 25th October next year. Just in case anyone was interested
Does this tie in with any delivery dates for another new 787-9?

Not sure about the delivery dates but I think the dreamliner was always intended to be used for the longer long haul flights like joburg

I thought it was going to be used for the route at some point, but it was just interesting that the dates had been loaded into the site. Part of me was hoping for the 340-6 as there are more UC seats which would have the potential of more UC reward availability. I'm sure I can cope with PE on the 787-9 if thats whats available!

If the 787-9 is available then they'll use it over the a346 due to fuel efficiency, the 787-9 deliveries are coming a fee weeks late though at the moment so keep it in mind it might not be in service on time.

There should be 9 787s in the fleet by the end of next year

on the bright side a shiny new plane, on the minus side less UC seats and UC reward availability. As long as I am in the sun for xmas and new year next year I dont mind!
