In need of a little help. Have just tried to call VS to book a reward flight for me and my wife. Most of the miles are credited to my account but will need to use some from my wife as well. (booking will be for us both) VS have said that they are not able to do that and that wife would need to transfer me the miles or i would need to buy them. Have done this before and used miles from each account but chap was firm in saying that i'm not able to do this. Any one have any experience?

Are they enough miles in your wife's account to cover at least one sector of your trip?
If so then this shouldn't be a problem (so call again and talk to another agent) but if not then indeed she will either have to buy the miles required or transfer them (at a cost) into yours.

http://virginatlantic.custhelp.com/app/ ... ng%20milesIf you are only 277 short then perhaps buy some miles or earn some via shopsaway if you do not need to book asap

We cross posted. The agent is correct.
You will indeed have to buy or transfer the miles (think there is a 1k min)
You must have enough miles to buy at least one sector in your wife's account to be able to use them. You cannot simply pool them.

Have you taken a flight within the last 6 months?
If so Miles Booster is the most economical way to get a few extra miles.
