Time change for VS39 LHR-ORD

Just received an email with itinerary change for our VS39 in June. The new departure time is now 9.45am rather than 11.35am! A lot less time in the CH :(!

I am even considering alternative plans... does anyone know whether changing the M-G under these circumstances would incur the usual £100 change fee?

I've had 3 emails with itinerary change in the last 2 weeks for my 2015 bookings v( I guess that's the downside of booking months ahead.

OK, now inbound VS40 is also changed from 18.40 to 17.55.

OK so I spoke to the FC, and they would be happy to offer me a full refund (cash and miles) or for me to move the flights to whenever, to the same destination.

The thing is, I've been a bit unsure about flying the UCDS on this route anyway, and having now got quite a few trips to the US next year, I'm considering cancelling this trip, so this could be a blessing in disguise... (a normal M fare is not cancellable, and carries a £100 charge for changes).

Decisions decisions! But anyway I'm pleasantly surprised by how flexible VS is being. y)

I'm disappointed too! Unfortunately cannot change our flights as other bookings (hotels and events)are already in place. What time does the clubhouse open? What time would we have to leave the clubhouse to reach the gate (9.45am departure.) Is there a possibility that the flight times could change again?
The last time we flew with Virgin was back in 2010 and we were hoping to make the most of our time in the Clubhouse this visit.

Clubhouse now opens 6:30 - plenty of time for a treatment, breakfast and a cocktail or two - for 9:30 departure, you'd usually not be called until 8:45am, so thats 2 hours 15 mins. To be fair I've managed all 3 with a 7am entry when going to BOM in past.

Seems the LHR-ORD got the old LHR-BOM slot!

I received an e mail & text from Virgin today informing me of a time change for the VS046 JFK-Heathrow in May. The departure time of 19.30 remains unchanged from when the booking was made but arrival in to Heathrow is now stated at 07.50 rather than 08.00

Right, I spent hours this afternoon chatting to many agents in the FC helpline, as they were having you guessed it, IT issues. The problem was that customers were being cut off whilst on hold/being transferred to the upper class team.

Apparently the usual rule is that they would only give a full refund when the change of schedule is more than 5 hours, but as I've been told I would get a refund (and a note was put on the system from my call this morning), they honoured it for me including the credit card charges. I had a little chuckle to myself when the helpful lady said "the ticketing team is very busy at the moment" after reading about the number of people in the ticketing department here recently.

All in all a good result for us. When I mentioned it to OH this morning he was also leaning towards cancelling so it's the right decision and result for us :)

I also got 2 emails today. Both quoted a booking reference I am not on. The email relating to the outbound flight was at least for the correct flight on the wrong day.

The email relating to the return was for the wrong flight and wrong day.

I have however been a victim of the SFO flight change. Not happy !

Good work, mrsw.

I changed my M-G segment (gratis) following a similar rescheduling by VS.

I was told flat out not to expect my new e-ticket for a least a week because they were having "staffing issues." Which made me think that instead of the one person in ticketing, there's actually nobody. :w

Actually the FC chap went into some detail and said they've been overwhelmed with people calling up to change flights because of so many VS-initiated schedule changes.

I wanted to say, "surely this can't happen every time new schedules are loaded into the system?" But I thought that would be rubbing salt into the IT wound. ):

Speaking of which, I am currently (as of an hour ago) locked-out of my FC account: "We're sorry your account is currently unavailable. Please try again later or contact your Flying Club helpline." :0

Anyone else?

I think we are seeing a rash of schedule tweaks at the moment because of the effects of the route cancellations and starts (DTW, YVR, NRT, CPT etc), new frequencies to MIA and SFO, plus the closure of little red freeing up the MAN slots.

I've now just had my time changes through for an Easter trip to Chicago, with my ATL and JFK flights being changed. They don't affect my connections fortunately... but what happens now? I can't "accept" the changes anywhere - do I need to wait for a new e-ticket?

Normally I think these are shown as a tickbox on your MMB, which you would accept if you are ok with the change.
