Returning from BGI in March 14th on the VS30

I think there are two lounges @ BGI
Any suggestions as to which may be best and who offers the best rate?

i think there's a landside lounge, but not been in it

there's one airside, been in it twice, quite crowded both times, maybe i'm being a a bit harsh but the phrase sub-servisair comes to mind, staff friendly but otherwise nothing to commend it

i certainly wouldn't pay to go in, there're some snack bars airside, also places landside/outside the airport

from memory, security is quite quick, once you've checked in and dropped bags you can safely leave it until an hour before takeoff to go through

I've only been into the outside lounge that VS U
use for UC and its certainly nothing worth paying for, pretty unappealing selection of snacks and self service bar. Not at all atmospheric, a bit like a school canteen almost!

The VSUC (now theirs but shared) lounge was largish for a caribbean airport. It is a shared with just about anyone so can get full. From memory it is a self serve bar area stocked with the usual wines/soft drinks/local beers. Not a great deal to eat - snack type things - but a quiet from the manic and heat downstairs.

It does have wifi and the seats were comfy. But it gets very busy due to the share.

I wouldn't bother, the airside lounge is pretty basic, I was bored after 10 minutes! You could try the bar outside the airport or even take a tour of the Concorde exhibit next door. Apparently I have read about a separate small lounge for VIPs, not sure how you can use it (didn't get an invite last time for some reason?)

Just had a look, looks like the Bar outside (Frankie's) burnt down earlier this year. The other lounge is called the IAM Jet Centre, separate from the main Terminal building.

Just read my post above on a big screen, either my iPad (or my eyes) made me put - now theirs - instead of - NOT theirs - hope that hasn't confused. :D
