Is this a good UC fare to NYC?

Question please for all you experienced flyers!

What is considered a good return UC fare to NYC?

I ask as I'm travelling there next July and have just found an UC fare which is just over 2k return - is that good or is it worth waiting to see if they have a sale in the new year?

Thanks all!

If you are happy then it's a good fare.

What are other airlines charging?

Yes there could be a sale but
(1) it might not include NYC
(2) It might not include Upper even if it does include NYC
(3) Even if they are it might not include your dates.

I think that is the new year sale. Ends 27th Jan.
I cant say whether it will ever come down more, but it will certainly go up.
As already suggested, check a few other airlines business class fares.

No, £2k is *not* a great fare to NYC.

It's a good fare, but it's a far that is available with advance booking for most of the year. A GOOD fare to NYC is around £1100-1300.

A full-fare ticket, however, is around £4,500-5,000, so on that basis, if you're happy with the price then book it.

I'd echo that although Paul, the sub-£1,300 fares haven't been around for a few years now, £1,600 is more likely in the last couple of years for the best sale fares to NYC.

The low key matching of BA's recent '2 for 2014' promotion had UC NYC return fares for £1012....unlikely to be seen again for a while...

Unfortunately the price matching with BA wasn't on the dates I needed :-( But thanks for all the advice guys. I'm attending a conference so my dates aren't flexible at all so, following your advice, I've gone ahead and booked. :-)

Flights EX Dublin Club world with BA were working out at near enough £900 for July when I was looking a couple of days ago.

Granted it's not Virgin and it's from Dublin but at those prices maybe worth a cheeky look.
