V-Flyer

Although I tend to avoid rum, I tried the Mile High Mojito ATL to LHR last week. The drink came and it was a pale green and bubbly (made with the Lanson). It was delicious. I ordered it on the return and the drink served to me was orange and tasted quite different. I loved the first drinks....the second not so much. Anyone know which crew got it right so I can order the proper drink next time?

Well, not sure what your recipe was, because a Mojito is a white rum based drink, with lime, soda, sugar, and mint.

Orange one may well have been a Margarita, which is tequila, orange liquer and lime (no mint).

A Mojito is fairly green so that's the one I'd say

You are talking about tequila. Tequila is not a mojito as far as I know, the defining characteristics are mint and rum. Soda can perhaps be replaced with champagne, but I'm really quite baffled about what drink you appear to have had.

You probably didn't get what you ordered. First one was a mojito, the second one wasn't. Probably a margarita. Like I said, tequila isn't in a mojito, but it is in a margarita.

'Twas not I that posted the original question. For me, as for you, a mojito is rum based. I was just pointing out that champagne is occasionally used as a top up tickler (but not on the terrace of the Hotel Nacionale in Havana).

Don't discount the weird behaviour of barstaff in lounges or staff onboard, deliberately mishearing alcohol orders and feeding you soft drinks. For instance they clearly thought that the whisky and lemonade I asked for my mum was for me, so gave me lemonade (I didn't find this out until later, and told my mum to get her own drink in the future if she actually wanted the alcohol part).

I was in the Centurion Club in Vegas for a bit before heading to the Priority Pass lounge. The difference in drink strengths was astounding. Ouch, Centurion club STRONG. Barely a flutter of alcohol in the PP lounge, but I think that's more to do with such lounges being mean with any spirits for cost reasons...
