Flt arr @ 1605hrs, so where to "revive" as Revivals will be closed?

Straight to overnight hotel before picking up hire car?

How are the airport Marriott and Renaissance?

Cheers.

Hi Andy

You're on the same flight as us but we're at 96 days so you'll be experiencing it before us!

We've decided to book a hotel and head straight there - we've booked the Radisson for our arrival. Earliest check in is 3pm but with the flight not due until 1605 we should be able to check straight in and freshen up there.

We've also booked the Renaisance for the night before our departure - having got a cracking package for stay & park they wanted silly money to add on another night so hubby has agreed that we'll pick up the car and drive the how ever many yards to the Radisson!

We'd be interested to hear how you get on.

ScoobySu

The Renaissance is the original LHR hotel and even if it's had a "lick of paint" recently applied is showing its age. Marriott is much nicer, but usually quite a bit pricier. I'm on *wood now so I usually end up at the Sheraton Skyline these days. Honestly, tho', much of a muchness for one night, book the cheaper one.

I stayed at the Sheraton Skyline last February for the night before an early LHR departure. Very quiet room (got one facing into the atrium with the pool) and very comfortable bed - shame I had to get up so early!

As has been said above, all the big-chain LHR hotels along Bath Road are going to be pricey, so book the cheapest. (You can sometimes get £29 rooms at the Premier Inn if you book in advance / want to stay in low-season).

Forgot to mention that I'm US based, so LHR is my initial arrival into Blighty before heading east to collect mother then north to Manchester and The Lakes.

Plan is to disembark VS042 after umpteen hours of VS & AMEX hospitality (Centurion Lounge + SFO Clubhouse + UC), drop luggage at an LHR hotel, head into London for the night then last train back before a few hours kip then pick up the hire car for an early start on the Thursday.

Using Priceline bidding, I've had the major LHR hotels on the Bath Road for $50 although I must admit that it's easier booking the Premier Inn (even though I was served in the bar by a panda!)
