Life after Little Red ?

Just wondering if anyone knows whats happening after the demise of Little Red?
Codeshare with BA ?
Codeshare with Easyjet?
EI taking on the routes or maybe a rethink and keep some of them open? (that would be too good to be true)
Let the speculation begin ....

For connecting passengers the only option will be BA to replace LR. I can't see EasyJet or RyanAir actually starting a base at LHR ever (high cost, limited availability so small and inefficient operation), and think it unlikely that Aer Lingus will take up the options (they must know the economics of the flights in some form).
So look forward to BA - VS has booked connecting passengers on BA for years when on one PNR BTW.

Was talking to the cabin crew after yesterday's flights and seeing a full first flight and a second load around 80 she did say she believes it's more about freeing up slots rather than a business decision.
Similar thought to what most have being saying here.

Strangely I have just received a customer survey regarding my recent "Little Red" flight.
Two questions to ponder over;
1. Are the flight times convenient?
2. How likely are you to use this service again in the future?
Answer please on the back of a fag packet.

Tried to do this for our upcoming JFK-LHR-MAN leg, unfortunately the BA flights from heathrow to manchester were coming out at about £3-400 per person

The FC agent said they often won't sell the cheapest fare buckets on to them. Is this normal or have others managed to bag reasonable BA connections via VS?

How can it be about freeing up slots when most will automatically revert to BA? Yes there are three pairs of short haul slots VS owns, but can these be converted to LH and T3 based?

whenever i've flown LR LHR- EDI it's been a good experience, better service than BA, with good loads
but aside from feeding VS long haul and people who want a decent non-BA experience (me!), where was the growth for LR?
getting BA EC members to fly LR must be extremely difficult even with FC status match - the ones i know would probably walk over hot coals to get their tier points - and oneworld members will tend to go BA too
easyjet/ryanair take the price-sensitive pax, BA take the business pax, LR is squeezed in the middle
if VS had got BMI maybe it'd be different, but as it is i don't see why anyone would want to even try an LR-like service

Apart from the MAN slots, the LR slots to ABZ and EDI had to be used for flights to those destinations only, so the comment about slot allocation is probably galley fm.
