Just booked two G's to BGI in November. Went for full mileage option rather than M's as we need to offload some miles. Which will be good news for everyone, as it will mean they will now offer reward sale for UC!
Outward on (according to MMB) 747-400 and returning on the 333. Seats all booked, which is the first time we've used the new advance request.
First time away without the teenage son. Had to pick a time where he wasn't stressing about his iGSCE's which are this May/June so we were a bit limited.
Feels great to have a booking in the MMB section as we didn't think we would manage to get away this year.

Congratulations on the G's. Have a lovely holiday in BGI. We are going in March to try out the newly refurbished Sandals.

Ooh do let us know how you find it. We haven't booked accommodation yet and I fancy a change from Turtle Beach.

We are using our miles for a 'G' flight in May. we are staying at the Club Barbados in Holetown on a recommendation from friends. However we used the Colony Club which is a sister hotel to the Tamarind in November 14. It is wonderful but does not have an all inclusive option. I will give a report on our hotel later. Have a great trip we are certainly looking forward to ours.

Congratulations on securing those G's. It is such a lovely feeling when one manages it.
At the moment November probably seems ages away but I have a feeling, the way time seems to fly these days , that it will in fact be upon you sooner than you think !!!!

After a decade of staying at Treasure Beach, we're giving the Colony Club a go this year. Here's hoping we've made a sound choice...

For those staying at Colony Club, and in an attempt to give you just a little more cofort, some good friends of ours have stayed there 3 times over the last 18 months or so and love it saying they wouldn't stay anywhere else.
For me, it's still Turtle Beach! Funny, when looking at our October trip this year, I was looking at various other hotels, but as yet, I can't imagine being in Barbados without staying at Turtle Beach.
?I guess I'll get bored of it some time, but not yet!
PS - I just thinking the other day that I hadn't seen a post from mdvipond for a while, and by jove, there you are!

That's good to hear Al; always a little trepidation involved when abandoning and 'old haunt'... Didn't have any choice actually, 'cause Treasure Beach is shut for a refurb, otherwise we wouldn't have strayed (much the same as you and Turtle Beach, I guess).
And yes, have been AWOL for a little while. Been busy spawning a son and heir, actually, which rather curtailed our long-haul travel last year. He gets his first trip to dear old Barbados this July!

Know that feeling well! We spent weeks over Xmas looking at alternatives and ended up booking Turtle Beach again this summer.
I was a little worried though when I heard that guests are currently being shipped up to Crystal Cove due to work Sandals are doing on the beach. I just hope they are not being allowed to 'spoil' or 'take over' the beach area as that will be a great shame.

Hopefully will be booking BIM in the next couple of weeks, probably late Nov/Early Dec, assume that G's will be scarce over Christmas (looking for 4 of them

) as well as more expensive hotels (assume that is correct?).
Last time stayed at The House and Oceans Two. Loved Oceans Two, nice modern hotel, friendly and able to cook my own food! Hopefully this time we are going to try a Villa for the first couple of weeks.

Ah, so Tizer will have a new focus for attention - glad to see you'll be introducing the new member of the family to paradise...
Hunterdw.....a little alarmed to hear that. Hope it's all sorted by July.
Hopefully, Sam will keep order as always!
When there last October, the work next door (from Turtle beach) was a little distracting, it has to be said.
Really hope it doesn't spoil things over there - some of the staff (whom my family have now known as friends for 4 years or more) were a little concerned...
I have noticed a subtle change in Barbados over the time we've been visiting - and it's not for the better. When I heard that Sandals was arriving, I did have my worries...
