V-Flyer

Well, there's been a few mentions of these travel cubes recently!

Honestly, I had never heard of these until they were mentioned on V-Flyer, and now I have to have some, what an inspired idea!

So, any recommendations on particularly good brands in terms of ease of use, good sizing and robustnesss?

I bought them from Amazon, the thick sturdy ones, not the ones made from tent fabric....I will try and find out what the make was, think it was American.

The ones I have are eBags, available from Amazon, in various permutations from small to large, or sets with a mixture.

I have several small and medium size and some slim ones. They're very robust, come in wild colours (so you can colour code with family members) and I love them. They make packing a doddle and compact leaving that bit more room in my case for the shopping I know I'll do when away

Another vote for ebags. I didn't bother with packing cubes when Bretty first rhapsodised over them, but I'm totally sold now, wouldn't be without them.

My dear lady, packing cubes just aren't meant for some folks.

And another vote for eBags. Although I'm a bit anal about packing these days and have the full compliment of packing cubes, shoe bags and toiletry bags

Used them a couple of times but found they just added weight to our suitcases, so gave them away.

Has anyone got the eBags flat pack toiletry bag? Just been looking on Amazon.........

A surprising amount. One of the large ones will easily take a couple pairs of jeans plus 2-3 shirts and a jumper. I'm 6'2" so my clothes ain't small either!

I found them great for packing a small case like a carry on bag as they really help compress stuff and get the maximum into a limited volume. And unpacking at your destination is SO much better. Wouldn't leave home without them now!

Depends on the size(s) of them. I use the smaller ones for undies etc, the medium sized ones for tops and t-shirts and the larger ones depend on what I am taking.

To give you an idea ColOrd, in the photo is a medium (orange), small (purple) and slim packing cube. Contents are: in medium size, 7 polo shirts (rolled), 1 sweater, in small 1 t-shirt, 1 pair shorts, 1 pair cords, and 8 pairs each of socks and undies in the slim, enough for a week. These all fit in a small carry-on size case leaving room for a pair of shoes and a small toiletry bag and even my iPad and chargers. Not bad I think. I tend to use 2-3 medium sized, a couple of small and a couple of slims if packing for 10-14 days. I tend to roll most things. The set you've linked to on Amazon is a small, medium and large. I've even got the eBags Motherlode Junior backpack / carry on case which is just brilliant.

Don't know about the comment from SNOMO about extra weight, these each weigh just a few grams, very lightweight.

I find the large too large, but have one. The slim and small are my preference. Generally I take one small, one medium, one large and 3 slim ebags on a trip. i would like the shoe bags but have not found any in the UK.
