off to IAD for a couple of days meetings

just reviewed a 90+ slide powerpoint that landed in my mailbox with a heavy thud, going to be fun seeing it live

if you heard a heavenly choir around 0700 it was heralding success at miles upgrading my company TA ticket to UC at check-in (it was an EC B ), they actually upgraded me both directions

a bittersweet experience as sungoddess is out of action due to a nasty knee injury, we were supposed to be heading UC reward to BOM this morning, couple of days shopping then off to the hills to veg out, but had to cancel

i must thank both IHG and Hilton for cancelling/refunding my prepaid non-refundable bookings without quibble after they heard what happened, plus of course VS for quick points refund - already thinking of options for when she is back in action!

added a colleague's name at CH reception so he can come in when he arrives, hope he makes it in time to enjoy

so far it has been bubbly, shower, bully, english brekkie, now i feel another bubbly coming on

If every speaker in every conference I attend was compelled to study - and implement - all the wisdom in the Presentation Zen blog / book, my academic life would be hugely improved.

Oooh, congrats on the two-way upgrade

However, my sympathies on the Powerpoint slides. To my mind they are the devil's invention - both as a presenter and as a presentee!
