I see VS have already cancelled three flights today to NYC and BOS, BA has canceled eight. Hope no ones plans have been upset by the snow forecast there.

Wow! That's deep.

Like slinky said, I hope this isn't a major disruption of people's plans.

This is why Mrs D won't fly into the northern states in the winter. So instead of JFK and connect to SAV and drive 40 miles we have to fly to MCO and drive 330 miles.
I guess I can't argue with her now. (3 weeks to go)

Greetings from Manhattan, where the local shop has run out of water, bread and, er, tomatoes ?| .

The wind is up, and a very light snowfall has started...

It's about -7C though, which is pretty nasty with the wind.

Hi, Nylon.
Hope you have plenty of warm clothes and no urgent travel plans. Maybe it won't be as dire as forecast. I know how their weather channels go into over drive !

Do please give us an update .

Too right! I always find the cognitive dissonance in Manhattan in particular quite odd: people panic because of the TV news, empty the food shops of all their stock and then, er, go out for a meal because pretty much all the restaurants remain open or, even more bizarrely, order delivery in the middle of the storm :0

Water......That's a relief. I thought you were going to say alcohol.

Weather does the same to the mental state of buyers as an impending bank holiday.

Actually me too, on the proviso I had nowhere to go tomorrow and had very good wellies. In London you can still have snowball fights with police officers, not sure about that in NY though, they'd probably shoot you.

Just went for a walk (Upper West Side). So many delivery guys on bicycles in the snow (which is starting to fall more heavily now)! I hope they're getting tipped properly!

Well New Hampshire has just Declared a State of Emergency, not that I am an expert but that seems a little premature. Just looked out of the window and no snow is fallen yet.
Is it wrong that I am excited for this much snow?? :|

Governor is taking questions at a live news conference "Will the State run Liquor stores stay open"....Do we have other V-flyer memebers in New Hampshire :o) :o)

Well, that depends if I get, ahem, snowed-in at the bar and, er, clearly unable to make it back the half-block to my apartment...

We left NYC last night - PHEW - we arrived at JFK at 6pm for the VS10 and was asked if we would mind moving to the DL flight an hour later. We agreed with the compo of £250 each. Not sure If I would want to be there right now or not.
