A big hello from the NRT ClubHouse; VS901 has been delayed for a few minutes which gives me a moment to post a farewell to this particular Virgin Atlantic route.

I tried to get a table out of the ClubHouse under my jacket but it was spotted; I shall make do with a couple of metal pens and a yoghurt pot! :D

I have fond memories of that CH.
My very first UC trip back in to the UK was from Narita and spent many a good days working in Tokyo a number of years back.
I started to look forward to the sausage sandwich they served after a few weeks each time in Japan.
Was also the first time I "lost" a boss coming home :D :D
Such a shame it will not be used again :(

The space will revert back to the airport operator to do with what it wants.

It was rather emotional saying farewell to the check-in and ClubHouse staff; one of my favorite ClubHouses, not least because of the very weird drink offerings!

The flight, service and food were excellent, and we received some, quite unexpected and rather brilliant, bonuses.

The CC thanked all of the Japanese staff for their service, on arrival at LHR. It appears that many of the Japanese CC are transferring to other VS routes, although there appears to be no cross-pollination to Delta.

Can someone please remind us when do we see the slots used for new USA flights? How long can the slots be not used?

Haha, yes, had to be done..!

My real question was - will VS remove the clubhouse (fixtures and fittings) or will someone walk straight into this as a 'new' lounge.

I would not be surprised if Delta take this, however I am not sure they have many flights from here? This would also keep it open to returning to VS - but is that likely?

Would be a strange one if BA (or someone took it on) - could they replicate the levels of service?

As I said before the space will revert back to the airport and they will decide what happens to it.

VS will remove anything with VS branding. No doubt their lease will specify what they have to remove from it in terms of equipment etc.

Whoever takes it over will want to have it in their own corporate style and decor and service levels.

DL already have lounges at Narita so unlikely they would want unless it meant they could save some money or was in a better location for them.

I think it will be used as the new late LAX slot following a re-jig.
