Just going to book a few hotels in the US.

Some of the hotel chains will give you a status match to your VS FC card, but I can't remember which one (can't access the site from work either).

Which one is it? And are there others (hotel chains specifically).

Worth checking your work travel scheme doesn't have any matches available first.

A pleasant surprise for me was finding we have a instant silver with 4 stays to gold with Hilton arrangement for my (large-ish) firm, with no requirement the trips be business trip. We have similar with other hotels, but with the VS promo on at moment, I'm using Hilton a lot.

I'm a contractor, so no my company doesn't give me a company.

I did manage to find a code to get silver in 4 stays, and gold in Hilton. Been gold 3 out of the last 4 years with Hilton, but the prices and upgrade availability haven't been great. Current Hilton prices aren't wonderful, I'm sure I got a reasonable deal for Heathrow Hiltons and now they're right up there for the night I want (and barely rate them, and never been upgraded from a Heathrow Hilton).

I've found out Best Western will status match. Never stayed with them, no idea if the status is worth anything either. Suspect it wasn't the Marriot which is a reasonable chain...

Best Western is a pretty easy to attain - but rather useless - status match.
They will pretty much match any other hotel status but their match falls far short of what the other hotels offer (hence the easy of matching with them).
You may just about get a free newspaper and that is about it.
Outside the UK don't expect anything. I matched to Diamond last year and have had no recognition at all. I stayed in China where they had no idea what the club even meant and gave nothing.
