Change fee on a combi fare?

Hi all,

I've noticed 'change fees' mentioned a few times recently. Can anyone advise if they would apply in the following scenario:

Currently have a combi fare booked: LHR - LAX (U) / LAS - MAN (P)

If a G were to appear for the return leg, would I expect to pay a change fee (if so, how much) or just the difference in taxes?

Thanks.

There won't be change fee if you are upgrading, you'll just pay any additional taxes etc.

It depends what you mean by combi fare. Is your upper lass flight a reward fare and your premium a cash fare? If this is the case then it would depend what fare bucket your cash fare was booked in, only certain buckets can be upgraded to G. If W or S you could upgrade to a G for 12,500 miles and the extra in taxes, if your cash ticket is any other bucket then you'd have to pay the difference to upgrade to W or S first.
If you meant you have a mixed reward flight where both flights are bought with miles just in different classes then yes you only pay the difference in milage and taxes.
