Flying UC VS33 26/02 with FC Points for Wife's 65th. Return 12/03 only have PE seats ,anyone know best way to get UC with points ? please don't say Website or Phone Thanks & God Bless

I assume your return in PE was also booked with miles? If so you can upgrade to UC if there are G reward seats available. And yes, I'm afraid the best way to check availability - and the only way to book - is by calling up, unless you want to chance it and try upgrading at check-in on the day but by then there's a good chance UC will be full.

You can check availability by doing a dummy UC miles booking but you'll only have to phone them anyway to upgrade!

Website and phone really are the only ways to check and book !

I wold be tempted to telephone around 24 Feb regarding the outbound as VS may be willing to accept miles for a G, if the revenue seats remain empty.

It may appear less likely on the inbound, but with the Y cabin fairly full, all you need is a couple of cancellations or a no show in UC and VS will, probably, bite your hand off if you offer some miles at ANU.

The OP's already in UC outbound.

There's always a chance at the airport on the return but I'd say it's very, very slim. UC no-shows on the leisure routes are rare, unlike the LHR business routes.

I'm not sure what other channels you can think of apart from the web site or phone ... the web site search for reward seats seems remarkably easy to me, here it is:

Also, with bookings across all fare classes like this:

That shows one available seat in UC (revenue seat that is). It is highly unlikely that you will therefore get seats in UC for the return apart from a very slim possibility that some people don't show or cancel.

On my recent trek in December, to BGI I upgraded both ways at the airport ,although on expert flyer no seats were available 4 were unsold outbound and inbound it was completely empty even again the numbers showed a full UC ( technology)
