I'm curious to know what's the earliest time people have had their first alcoholic beverage in the Clubhouse?

The CH had opened early that day

As soon as I've got in the LGW CH at around 7.30am. Ritual is champagne and Eggs Benedict

I've had the very first drink poured for guests at LGW CH.

The moment the bar opens.

Excellent replies - I should be arriving about 7.15am, DRCI, into the clubhouse by 7.30am (hopefully). Flight is at 9.45am so will be starting early!!

I don't always drink alcohol in the Clubhouse, but it can depend what 'time-zone' my brain is on! If I've just flown in from in from somewhere East, where it's now evening, then I might just feel like something.., even if it's morning in UK time!

why wait until you get to the clubhouse?

I was there last Friday.
I got in to the CH about 8.30 a.m.
I had my first alcoholic drink at 10 o'clock.
But that was just my personal preference. I like to give the old liver 12 hours rest between bouts and we took a bottle of Lansons to the Hilton the night before. And had a few in the Executive lounge.
Drink when you feel like it. Staff are more than happy to oblige.

When not flying for business I don't care what time of day it is. Bring on the champers!

Flew vs3 once and was offered glass of scotch in duty free after security. Drank it while I was sat waiting for the clubhouse to open

Maybe you could arrange to arrive a little earlier? CH opens at 0630 now I think, so you could swan in, accept the offered glass of fizz and book yourself a treatment. And of course have another glass of Lanson or a Redhead.

I shall have to rethink my "pick up" time. Ask to be collected a bit earlier methinks! All the replies have made me feel a lot better about imbibing alcohol at such an early hour, but hey, I don't visit the clubhouse that often so I may as well make the most of it.

I have queued outside a pub waiting for it to open on a Sunday morning. (With a V-Flyer!). Once you've done that, the concept is less 'too early' and more 'it's evening somewhere'.

Oh, I didn't realise that the clubhouses had a liquor license?

We love country music, hence our trip to Nashville via Chicago, for the CMA Fest in downtown Nashville in June.

Hopefully not encumbered by anyone under the age of 21. Our Nashville experience was severely constrained by not being able to go into anywhere serving alcohol when accompanied by our (then) 20 year old daughter. We did, however, get to the Opry (albeit the modern one rather than the Ryman auditorium) and attended a concert at the Country Music Hall of Fame featuring Rodney Crowell and The Secret Sisters.
