Question re Boston and luggage

So, we're flying back from BOS tomorrow evening. I've tweeted VS to ask what time check in opens and they've said "around 3.5 hours before departure", as our flight has been moved back to 2210 this means we have a lot of time to kill in the day.

Any suggestions what we can do with our (rather extensive collection of) luggage? We're in a rented apartment and need to be out by 11am so can't leave it there...

Am not sure if there are any left luggage lockers / facilities at South Stations.

There aren't any at Logan.

Use this to get to Logan and they'll store your luggage until you're ready to go.

There's a left luggage facility in the railway station. Last time I was there it was a schlep but does free you up.

Thanks for the replies guys. Have gone for a day room at the airport Hilton - $139. It will involve one extra taxi ride from the airport but that's no big deal here in Boston.

Good solution but I hope you are still going to spend the day in the city!

Boston is too lovely not to spend as much time in it as possible!

Absolutely! We've got a nice family lunch planned at an Italian just down the road from where we stayed in beacon hill.

Have already had a good walk to the north face shop on Newbury to buy another case to bring all the new stuff we've acquired home too! :)

Cheers, really looking forward to it. Though slightly worried that I wasn't able to use OLCI last night for two of our party (me and junior etk). Called FC and they reassured me it will be ok... Fingers crossed!

Bags dropped at the Hilton - fourteen whole minutes from town! Really nice airport hotel actually. Now back to snowy sunny Boston for one last look round :)

Transportation in Boston is amazing. I remember standing waiting at the taxi rank looking over towards the City and you're right, in just minutes the taxi is parking outside a hotel. Bet that snow was a scene to be remembered.

Hope checkin at Boston went all okay for you and your flight
home is good. On the new 787-9? ... result :)

Snow was immense - 6-8ft drifts at the side of every road, huge icicles hanging off every building. We only had a couple of days here (after a week up in the Rockies skiing) but have loved it. Will definitely be back.

Check out of the Hilton and and into VS was as smooth as could be imagined. Now in the clubhouse enjoying a first redhead. Not quite the same as the LHR one but still a very good airport lounge.

I'd definitely recommend the Hilton if anyone needs somewhere to crash for a few hours before this flight. Great value (especially if there are a group of you), and decent lobby/rooms.

Bring on the 787!

Assuming you were at Faneuil Hall or downtown Hilton? There is also one on airport with free shuttle, easy access to harbor taxi North End as well.

We went with the one at the airport in the end, definitely recommended.
