V-Flyer

Hello, hopefully not a silly question, travelling UC in May and was wondering about getting into the clubhouse from the 1st floor fast track security area. Last couple of times ended up going down the escalator through duty free then back up the escalator. is there a shortcut that brings you out on the first floor near the clubhouse? Not that I could not do with the exercise, just time better spent in the clubhouse! The clubhouse is signposted as you exit security so hopefully a quicker route is available. Thanks

Have visited several times BUT I could not tell you how I got there from security at all. I know it's easy and doesn't take long and it's upstairs!

It is not well signposted but I recall just coming out of security and it is a little way ahead on the right next to the sunglass shop.

Yes there's a short cut that doesn't involve going downstairs and back up again.

As you face the escalator down into duty free hell, there's a door to your right that leads into what is essentially a service corridor.

Turn left down the corridor, past some toilets and it brings you out on the first floor of the departure lounge. Turn right and you'll see the Clubhouse entrance on your right.

Note that at the moment they are refurbishing the 'normal' Fast Track at LGW, last week at least.

So as you enter the regular security area you stay to the left (some temporary signs were in place indicating Fast Track) then once you collect your items from conveyor do not turn left but go straight ahead through the double doors where a corridor forms a T junction, then turn left into that corridor and it brings you out on the upper floor rather than taking you down the escalator - clubhouse will be to your right as you come out. This appears like the same corridor Gumshoe mentions.

No it's not - clearly they're trying to channel everyone down the escalator and through duty free! But the double door from the back of security into the corridor is quite obvious, even if it feels a bit like you're going somewhere you shouldn't.
