Is it something I'm doing wrong ? Any ideas anyone ?

Try a different browser. I had an issue like this recently with Firefox and the "solution" was to use IE.

I had the same message when I booked on Expedia last week. It was to do with a block being put on the credit card (Tesco in my case).

I immediately called the number on my card and they confirmed the security check and went through the recent transactions before unblocking it. The payment then went straight through.

About 15 minutes later I had the text on my phone asking me to call Tesco regarding my card.

I even had a card I use often blocked trying to book a flight on the VS website recently.

After speaking to my card issuer, apparently banks and card companies are seeing a lot of online fraud via travel websites now so are putting extra checks in place.

With a new credit card provider I have in the past phoned them up and pre-warned them that I'm about to go on a spending spree with a certain airline or such company. That way you don't have the awkwardness of your card being declined as they know it was going to happen.

Blacky1, recently I tried to renew an ESTA via my ipad.
I got right to the payment point, put in credit card details and then it came up "authorisation not complete due to payment issue" :w

I waited a couple of days just to see if it had been processed but then I pulled all the ESTA details up again on my laptop - completed the payment info again and 'hey presto' it worked.

My son had the same problem when trying to submit payment details to John Lewis via his ipad.

Probably a coincidence but it does seem strange.

Best of luck - what have you been booking this time then ! ii)

Happens to me a lot when I'm in the States. It takes a few angry phone calls and emails to sort it out.
