http://www.heathrowairport.com//flight- ... line-movesFYI - from 29 March 2015 Delta's flights to Atlanta, Seattle and Dallas (didn't know they flew to Dallas?) are going back to T4.

They only relatively recently moved them to T3.

Hmm probably on the cards to make SkyTeam connections easier for transit pax.
At least it will mean a few less DL FFs in the LHR CH

And that a split terminal operation can only add cost ... I wonder if DL had been able to move over all flights to T3 they would.
Anyway, it should be good to lessen the clubhouse crowds.

Thats surprising given they fairly recently moved in, I wonder what was the reason for the turnaround? (They don't directly fly to/from Dallas to London its a tag-on to one of the Atlanta flights)

Will the DL ATL/SEA flights remain VS codeshares?
For SEA it's not too confusing, as that route is DL metal only. But ATL has both DL and VS metal.
So pax on the VS103 (VS metal) will be ex-T3, but pax on the VS4045 (DL metal) will be ex-T4.

I may have read that the baggage system in T3 is being updated, so perhaps this has something to do with that project?

OK, so it's my first post on here.
I wonder if this is to do with the end of Little Red? Last year we flew from Manchester to Seattle via LHR and the transfer bus VA provided was really easy off the little red service.
Now that LR is to cease, it may just be easier for delta to go back to their original terminal?

It does seem co-incidental that it is the day after the LR Manc flights end but may I posit the theory that its because VS need the extra capacity at T3 to accommodate the extra TATL flights which will surely be earlier in the day than the Mumbai, Cape Town and Tokyo flights?

29 March is the first day of the new summer timetable so there'll be changes to lots of flights on lots of airlines. Don't know why DL have made this decision but I've no doubt it's business driven.

That's true but US airlines seem to change flights willy-nilly whereas EU airlines adhere to the time change with the exception of seasonal services. And of course the USA buggers everything up by changing DST three weeks before the rest of the world!!

This is due to capacity, T3 is full and T4 is relatively empty.

Didn't DL very recently open an arrivals lounge in T3?

T3 is nowhere near as full as it used to be.

I find that hard to believe. All of the Star Alliance carriers have vacated, and aside from a couple of transfers from T1 I can't see anything particularly significant which has replaced them.

Stand capacity, BA have moved from remote stands to on pier, Delta don't like remote stands so much. Plus reduction in stands, building work going on on the stand outside the Clubhouse (what a lovely view!)
Lounge capacity, Clubhouse getting quite busy at peak times.
Security capacity, security wait times aren't doing too well.
It has been said that it's due to capacity but there is talk of another airline moving to T4 in the next year or so, so could be an excuse for now.

I sincerely hope it isn't VS, for some reason I hate T4.

Hate T4 trips - it's just a corridor airside really! Although that said, if redeveloped the Skyteam lounge could be an amazing clubhouse.
I will definitely be personally avoiding the T4 DL flights - I presume they moving back at some point.
Only good thing at T4 is the Hilton, which I really like - it's one of my favourite heathrow hotels.

I last used T4 in around 2009. Wss much changed (for better) since 2000 when I used it to flyu on BA
The DL/Skyteam lounge was good. Not CHG good but still good.
Problem seemed to be was everyone stayed downstairs leaving the upstairs almost deserted.
I posted some pics of it in a TR for DL 149 Though of couse they may have refurbished it since then.
