Yesterday when I collected our car from the purple parking captain during our conversation he mentioned that from April PP will have a small stand at the upper class wing. From there they will drive your car away eliminating picking up the captain outside the terminal.
I'm not sure how true this is but the gentleman I was taking with had been asked If he would be happy to do this.
If it's true it's a great enhancement, it'll make it easier and more likely for pax to use the wing. Providing your willing to pay for meet and greet that is.

That would be a good enhancement, rumours first came up about 2/3 years ago about PP doing such a thing. I guess now the UCW isn't considered such a secure area anymore and the relaxed requirements for the car reg details etc, it is now easier to implement.

Having used PP once before, we did have a little issue finding the representative ( and being told twice by PP HQ to go to the wrong place) so this would be a great idea. Even with the little issue we had, I would certainly use PP and recommend them for DTCI.

Assuming this enhancement to the PP product goes ahead, can anyone give some advice on how to reach the DTCI? Having never used DTCI before, I would like to experience the whole thing on our trip in May, but need directions.

I hope this is correct, we would certainly use for our NY trip in May.

If you contact the UC line they will email you a map - at least they did when I used it.

I emailed PP to ask if this was something they were going to do:

Thank you for your email. I would advise that we need to collect you from departures outside Terminal 3 and then take you round to the Upper Class Wing. We cannot collect you directly from the Wing area.

As it's the VS website and the gerbil will be tired after Easter weekend perhaps it just hasn't been updated but the website still states;

"Valet parking and parking facilities aren’t available"

I phoned yesterday to book a time slot for the DTCI. Agent was so helpful and yes she offered to email a map.

At this point (8days to go ) we're not sure of the registration number of the vehicle we will arrive in. She said no probs and we can let them know as we are driving on our way. She did say that they must know the registration number in advance or access at the barrier will be denied. That's all very reassuring - obviously for security reasons.
