Policy change for VS Golds when flying Delta economy?

A month ago I flew LAX-JFK on Delta economy and as a VS gold, was able to pick my seat in the economy comfort section that has extra legroom right after booking the ticket.
Yesterday, I booked another LAX-JFK on Delta economy for May, added my VS Gold number, but was unable to pick a seat in Delta Comfort+ (the newly branded DL economy comfort seat with more legroom.)
Has there been a policy change? I heard Delta elites now have access to VS exit row and VS extra legroom seats in economy; but I feel the reverse has occurred for VS elites on DL metal?
For any of you who recently booked tickets on Delta economy, have you been able to access Delta economy comfort+ seats?

I just booked SFO-JFK for an early May flight and I was able to pick Comfort+.

Have you actually got your e-ticket? Unlike VS (where you can pick a seat while a sector is on hold), DL will not let you pick a seat until the e-ticket has been issued.

Yes I have both eticket and confirmation numbers from the email I received from them.
It is an X-fare class booking. I'm not 100% sure if that has something to do with it since the previous DL economy ticket I flew on a month ago was a V fare.
Odd. Perhaps it's just an anomaly.

NYLON, when did you book the SFO-JFK ticket? In February? I was just rereading the Delta site and apparently there were changes made on March 1st. I'm not 100% sure but I believe VS gold translates to DL Gold and if that is the case, after March 1st we can only pick DL Comfort plus (extra legroom) within 72 hours of departure.
This sucks. :/

Yes, I did book the ticket a couple of weeks ago (end of February).

Where might one find details on current VS Au DL privileges?

EDIT: I found this: http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/ ... efits.html

But it doesn't mention anything about VS. One thing is clear, only Y tickets in DL bucket E are not eligible for upgrade.

I've never found any documentation in regards to VS Gold benefits on DL metal. However, if the assumption that VS Gold equates to DL Gold, then there were changes made on March 1st, as stated in the weblink you provided.
In the meantime, I'm sitting on the exit row so I'll have more legroom there but apparently within 72 hours of departure, DL Gold elites (VS Gold too?) will have access to DeltaComfort+ then. My flight is in May and I'll report my experience then.

I called delta last week about this change.....the rep did say that nothing is written on their website about this new rule (for partner airlines) and confirmed that we now like delta gold in which we can't choose a comfort+ seat until 72hrs out. A bit of a bummer, but what can you do?
