Upper Class MAN-MCO-MAN - best couples seats

Hi,

I'm a long time lurker, first time poster. Just a quick question. After months of hoarding FC miles, yesterday I called FC and managed to book PE seats and upgrade to UC for both legs of our journey MAN-MCO-MAN early next year for 25,000 miles for each of us. I'm pretty pleased to have managed to do this as after reading this site I know how scarce upgrade availability on this particular route can be.

Just a quick question, my wife and I have never travelled in Virgin UC before. At the moment the cabin is pretty much empty on the seat selection screen. Seatguru recommends 6 A and K (on the 747) as they're apparently closer together than the other seats, but I wondered if you frequent VS flyers had any suggestions about the best place to sit in UC when it's just the two of you?

Any other hints and tips very much appreciated.

Thanks for all the help over the past few months!

VIR75K

Welcome to V-Flyer.

This is a very common question, I am sure people will make their recommendations, but if you do a search - use the 'advanced search' in the top right corner of the forum - use the term 'couples' and select thread titles only, it brings back a number of threads on the subject.

Nick

Welcome!

Seatguru is right on this occasion. 6A & 6K are, without question, best for couples on the LGW/MAN 747s.

I use that route quite often and have sat in most of the seats over the last few years. The conclusion is that if you want to be close to one another you go for 6a/k or even 7a/k. Other than those seats you are better being on the same side of the plane but behind one another ie 8a - 9a etc. I must admit I like to sit in 11k - 12 k as a couple as you are at the back of the cabin and you can see what's going on (not as claustrophobic) even though they are close to the bar I have never experienced any adverse noise and end up there most of the flight anyway. ): if you are on the k side and you fly down the eastern sea board you may even get a glimpse of New York if it is a clear day.
