The 747s used on that route have USB ports.
They are not meant for charging devices though, just powering them while you're using them. You may find they don't charge certain devices - like iPads - at all.

There is also a plug socket under the ottoman on those 747s that will provide sufficient power. It accepts multiple plug types.

Thanks!!

EmPower sockets are only on LHR A346 & B744 fleet in Upper & Premium.
The LHR A333's & B789's along with all the LGW/MAN B744's all have standard universal full size power sockets that accept UK, US and Euro plugs in Upper and Premium.
Not sure about any of the Economy cabins though sorry

I've just found a bit more info on the VS website about in-seat socket types
here including info on the economy cabins.

That's a great page but while it gives the plane reg that won't mean much to folk!
It would be more useful if it told you where those planes (usually) operate.
The empower 747s are LHR
The USB 747s are LGW/MAN/GLA/BFS

I don't have an empower adaptor for my Dell Latitude E6520 - am travelling UC on VS23 to LA on Saturday (so assuming 340-600). VAA used to provide Empower adaptors but looks like they don't now from their info page?
If they don't provide adaptors, can anyone recommend a good Empower adaptor that should work on a VAA 340-600?
Thanks.

Would this Empower device work on the Virgin 340-600 Empower supply?
I notice on the VAA site it says the seat-socket gives 15V but this device that Maplin says is an "Empower" device says it takes an input voltage of 12-13.8v? Would this work with the seat power on a 340-600

?

Both the Empower (or full size power sockets) depending on the A/C are located between the seats close to the cabin floor in the PE cabins.
