Just returned on VS086 where a passenger, who appeared to be suffering from a recent leg/ankle injury, was removed when they couldn't produce the necessary medical clearance documents,

In the end caused a 50 minute delay but how a passenger, who is carried/wheeled onto the plane and who could not walk two steps unaided, can take their seat and the doors be closed before the question re clearance is even raised I'm not sure?!

Hmm, I'd imagine that it's either a check in error where the agent hasn't asked for the papers / fit to fly documentation and when it was requested by the crew onboard the error was found. Alternatively, if the passenger had checked in online and didn't have any bags to check in they might have bypassed all of these checks and again the error would be found by the cabin crew on board.

Either way - far from ideal!
