CH & Delta Lounges Access

Hi all,

Long time, no post! I've been using the Little Red flights in the main but now I have an opportunity to fly LHR - ATL with VS for work next week. I've decided to upgrade the company PE ticket to UC using miles to take the sting out of the flight and to see the Clubhouse for the first time in a while! So, couple of questions for the resident experts:

1. Guest access. For a G booking it seems to imply one guest as long as on the same flight as me. Is that right? Or can it be anyone flying VS the same day?

2. I'm connecting with Delta to my final destination, class S (economy). Does UC inbound and / or outbound give me Delta lounge access? Not too fussed if not, tbh. :)

Ta!

Darryl

Hi and welcome back!

Yes a G allows you a +1 for the Clubhouse, as long as they're on the same flight as you.

You wouldn't be allowed lounge access in the US for your DL flights though, unless you're VS Gold.

Hi,

Ta for the clarification :) out of interest, is the same flight rule an 'enhancement' I missed since last in UC or have I misremembered the rule? Thought it used to be any vs flight that day would allow you to be guested in, as BA indeed still allow... Or is this a restriction specific to G class tickets?

Same flight rule is an enhancement, you are correct it used to be any VS flight that day, new rule has been in force about 18 months now

Given the notorious overcrowding in the BA lounges at T5, and the frequent complaints about it over on Flyertalk, I'm surprised BA haven't made a similar "enhancement" - at least for certain passengers, flights or ticket types.

Okay, I shall refrain from offering CH access to anyone unless they're also on VS115 this Sunday!

One final Delta question. I'm returning home routing from PHI-JFK (Delta econ)- LHR (VS UC). When I look to bag drop in Philly, does the UC leg of my journey give me access to priority check-in at all? Suspect not, but worth checking...

Don't think so I'm afraid, unless you're VS Gold. Long queues at check in for US domestic flights are fairly rare nowadays anyway as so many people check in online and just take hand baggage. Security tends to be where you find the lines.

BA maintain that their guesting policy is same flight only, but it is used at the discretion of the person manning the desk (or their superior).

Hi again,

One more question! Checked in with vs for atlanta no problem but can't get the onward delta segment. Delta website says talk to virgin. Is this normal? Assume I can get this at UC check in at LHR?

Probably a bit late for you now, but I believe for Delta flights you need to check in at the DL website if doing so online. You can also check in at Virgin's desk at the airport--that's what we did a couple of weeks ago. They'll just print your DL boarding passes for you there.
