Little Red - lounge and hotel options

So I am super excited for my first Little Red experience later this year (not quite UC I know, but it's still VS!), and I note that flights depart from LHR terminal 2.

Can anyone recommend the best configuration for lounge and hotel for the night before and morning of the flight? As we are not yet gold FC members so no CH this time. We were looking at the Sofitel but this is terminal 5. Also the only two lounges in T2 are the Plaza or Aer Lingus. No.1 Traveller would have been my choice otherwise. I guess it's a hassle to travel between terminals for the sake of lounges. Can anyone make reccommendations based on experience please? :)

You will only be able to access lounges in T2 so no hopping to other terminals. In T2 the Aer Lingus in the official VS lounge for status pax or connecting UC pax. You can enter Plaza Premium for payment or via a Priority Pass/lounge club etc. The United Club at T2B is also a Priority Pass lounge but quite a walk from the VS gates.

As for hotels, any of the various Bath Road properties are good for T2, although recently I've taken to staying at the Hilton Garden Inn near Hatton Cross which is a nice hotel in a great location for the airport with tube or free bus connections to the terminals.

I would also reccomend the hilton garden inn at Hatton cross (used to be the jury's inn)
As plane sailing has said plaza premium is the only paid access lounge but T2 is light spacious and there are loads of places to sit and look out of windows towards the southern runway.
You can also access wifi throuout the terminal and get extended free access if you sign up to Heathrow Rewards (www.heathrow.com/rewards ).

Last year I went LR from T2 up to Edinburgh I didn't bother with a lounge at this end. We went up to the far end of the terminal and there was a coffee shop which was relatively quite and served great food. Sadly I can't remember the name of the place. It may have been Capuccino
Can't help on hotels.

Many thanks for the tips. Will certainly have a look at the Hilton Garden Inn then. I must admit I used to use Hilton hotels frequently once upon a time when I became a 'gold VIP', and made use of the lounge, free upgrades etc. until I got demoted and slowly moved away from them. Worth having a look again.

So I may decide not to bother with a lounge at LHR then - if I do it would be a case of Plaza VS United by the looks of it.

T2 is a very pleasant terminal and one I am quite content to stay in without lounge access. There is plenty of seating, different places to eat (yes, Dick D, it is Cappucino), pleasant shopping and generally light and airy

We've decided as per advice to skip the lounge at T2 and have instead booked breakfast at the Sofitel :) We have booked the lounge coming back from EDI though.

Posting on here again rather than starting a new one - have just had an e-mail from VS saying I could pay for access to the Clubhouse on my journey to Edinburgh. Seems rather odd to get such an e-mail considering that i'll be flying from T2 so the CH is not an option!

Must be some sort of auto generated e-mail?

I've also had an email from VS trying to sell me Guest List treatment for a trip to ABZ.. all good in theory except I'd be in the wrong terminal!

I'm siding with auto-generated email.
