Only six days to go ....

So this time next week we will probably be wide awake after our outbound VS023 on the 13th 8D

I've booked the taxi from the Renaissance to DTCI, the DTCI slot (with a very nice chat with the Upper Class Support line), pre-booked the duty free, the new suitcase is ready to be packed with the two sets of packing cubes ...... but I've got a few last minute queries that I wonder if you wonderful helpful people can help me with please? :?

1. Spa
I have really brittle hair that is always worse after staying in a hotel - has anybody had "The Bumble and Bumble re-conditioning treatment" and would they recommend it?

2. Boarding
For a first time Upper Class trip when would be best to board VS023 - first or second call?

3. Sleepsuits
For Christmas our son bought us new PJs to wear on board (subtle hint from me after reading about the sleepsuits ): ). Is it ok to change into them whilst still on the ground?

4. Headphones
What are the issued UC headphones like? Are they noise cancelling? Hubby is after some Beats which will be approximately the same price in duty free as they are in the States so he might get some from Dixons, but I'm after some QC25s which even with the poor exchange rate at the moment and the sales tax will still possibly be cheaper in Vegas - I do have some OE2s. If I use my OE2s should I get a two pin adapter?

Many many thanks in advance - and I echo mark64's ccomments

I have very little hair so cannot comment :)

I'd go at the first call...it's disappointing to arrive at the gate only to find no queue to be prioritised against. Shallow, I know... :w

:? You may well be the only ones wearing them on this flight as it's a day flight and sleepsuits are not handed out. I'd wait until the seatbelt signs are off- it's not like you're short of time.

They are ok, but clearly not to the standard of Bose and the like.

Have the most fun possible.

Thanks PJH - I activated our Three cards yesterday and tested them so they're all ready to go too!

I'd go at first call too. By that time you've enjoyed the CH and it's good to have some time to sort yourself out, enjoy a glass of fizz, find out where everything is, enjoy a refill of fizz, organise your stuff. Oh and maybe another glass.....

Hic! Thanks WhiteRose - and so pleased the gerbils finally sorted your seat map out!

Thanks ScoobySu. I did stupidly get myself into such a state about it.

Realistically, by the time you get on board, you've had drinks in the CH, but I enjoy having time to get myself organised in the seat, sort out what I want from my carry-on, remember to put my phone and tablet into flight mode, etc.

Have a great time.

I haven't had the treatment, but I really like Bumble & Bumble products, I find them very mild and gentle on my hair (which is also brittle and quite fine :() I had a wash and blow dry at the CH in December and was reasonably impressed. If your hair is brittle DO tell them in advance, as some hairdressers can be a bit brutal unless they're aware your hair needs gentle treatment.

Have a wonderful flight!

My vote is also for first call, or sooner.
It is nice to get settled down and have a couple of glasses on board.

I did put on their PJs on my way back from MCO a couple of weeks ago. We were right up the front and I just changed under the duvet. No way am I changing in the toilet!!!

1. Can't help, sorry!

2. If it is your first UC flight, I would leave on the first call, as you will then have a lot of time onboard before departure to familiarise yourselves with the seat and the booze. ): If you want to live more dangerously, split the difference and go between the two calls. In the old days there were three calls, and you could order one last drink at the first one and still make the flight. Nowadays I start to gather my belongings on the first call, and then saunter down to the date -- unless you cut things fine, there will still be plenty of time before push-back.

3. Personally I wouldn't walk to the plane in pyjamas -- apart from anything else, it is usually quite a step at LHR, and this is a day flight. I wouldn't be looking to sleep -- quite the opposite!

4. The supplied headphones are sort of OK and they do have some noise-cancellation, but it is nowhere near as good as Bose QC25s.

Thanks spacedog, dickydotcom and at240! I was thinking about changing on the plane as every flight I take I manage to spill something down me :|

I've been pricing up the QC25s and duty free Dixons are coming up the same as John Lewis :? but at the moment they're around £ 50 cheaper in Target and thats before I get to the outlet malls so I'll grin and bear it with the on-board offering or my OE2s.

Spacedog - I hope you're SFO/LAX trip goes well too.
