Spacedog, thanks for your speedy reply.

Couple of questions I hope you can help a newbie with. Does the 46% refer to % occupancy on the flight? What does '23m' refer to?

Thanks Tontybear. The reason I was asking is because I am flying solo in PE and currently in seat 23D, 23F is empty and 23G occupied. The row behind 24D and 24F are occupied and 24G is free. Wondering if I should move myself to 24G, I prefer an aisle seat because I get up an awful lot and thought if I sit next to a couple then they will use their aisle seat to exit for toilets etc and leave mine to me (in case I fall asleep). It would be a bonus if no one was sitting next to me, last time I flew PE solo I had a very inconsiderate man whose elbow spent most of its time in my personal space.

Hmmmm, tricky one. Stay in 23D with a decent chance of the seat next to you remaining empty, or move to 24G for a decent chance of not being clambered over.

I think I'd stick with 23D but check the seat map daily and move if 23F is taken. Problem is a lot of people don't choose seats until check in so the seat map you see just before OLCI opens will bear little resemblance to what you get on the day. Of course more seating options may become available at check in including the row 21 bulkheads if you fancy them.

Thanks Gumshoe, appreciate your thoughts. I'll do as you suggest and keep checking and more importantly see how the seating changes once OLCI opens up.

And do people really not choose seats prior to OLCI opening?? Gosh, this is all part of the precise planning I do for any trip ;-) Lucky that my next few flights are in PE/UC so can choose the seats much earlier than EC - I am a lowly Red FC member.

Yes. On my last few flights there were only two or three seats chosen as well as mine in my cabin prior to OLCI but in each case at flight time, it was nearly full.

Awesome thanks - looks like there's still plenty of capacity to blag a check-in upgrade. I'll get to LHR early just in case :)
