Delta LAX-LHR

Can I ask your advice please? I'm planning my 50th birthday next February. I've flown UC both ways between LHR-LAX, top quality!!! Loved it!! This time I only seem to be able to get the return flight on Delta, I've read a lot of reviews and I they all seem to point to it being a waste of money.
I'm not a business traveller, I'm paying for this myself. Question is will I get value for my money?
Thanks.

Which reviews are you reading? There are a few DL trip reports for Business Elite on here so have a look at those.

See mine for DL 148 / 149 (JFK/LHR route) (but they are from a few years ago)

I found DL to be perfectly comfortable in J and with good food and drink and service.

I'd say yes you'd get value for your money.

flatseats.com was where I got the reviews from. Nobody seems to have a good thing to say about the flat beds onboard their flights, although I will say that I haven't seen a review on the LAX-LHR route.
Thank you for your help.

The beds can feel a bit coffin like, in that your lower legs are cocooned under the seat in front. But there are many people who feel the VS bed is very confined too, albeit in a different way.

Ultimately it's a perfectly good product - certainly on a par with BA CW if not better.

When I went to the website up popped our old 'friends' Skytrax.

You might find this old thread interesting reading.

Let's just say there are other airline review sites available.

I travelled with Delta on the LHR-LAX sector at the end of January. I agree about the "coffin like" feel to the flatbed. However, I found it a very roomy seat, had lots of personal space around me and it was really comfortable. I would even go as far to say I preferred it to the UC suite in some ways.

I found the crew exceptional friendly, the entertainment reasonable and the food and beverage element generous and good. I left the flight totally stuffed as I felt I had eaten my way across to LA all 11hrs45mins worth :w

I do have a TR on here of the flight so worth checking that out.
