Looking at booking reward flights to the East Coast this summer and would like to try the 787.

Can't seem to see any routes to NY, BOS or IAD flying the 787 this summer. Am I missing something here? Thought BOS and NY the the staring routes for this aircraft.

The 787s are moving around to other routes. LAX, HKG, PVG and DEL are some of the new routes they are being used on.

Isn't that what they were designed as being most efficient and economic for? The mid - to long range routes?

Have you checked EWR? I'm on the VS1 in September and that's a 787.

Yes, EWR flights are 787 free over the Dummer it seems.
Not sure what will happen when the 747s go. Less capacity and fewer reward flights?

My VS3 in early May was scheduled to be 789, then switched to a 744. At 43 years of age I'm sure I'm not meant to experience such upset at the mere switch of metal...

My VS04 on the 3rd June is still showing as a 787. Wonder if there is another one being delivered that is slightly late and some of the earlier JFK flights have had to be changed. ?|

David.

Hmm I'm not jealous at all! And just this morning as I was thinking "well I've never been on an LHR 744 so it'll be an experience" they've gone and changed it again to a 346! ARGH! Even worse by the time I noticed, all the aisle seats on the outer pairings were showing as taken. Thanks Virgin.

Please let there be some last minute mileage upgrades into UC available......

I'm booked on a 787 for June 7th from the East Coast to LHR. Is this likely to change now?

I'm also banking on them still running the 787 on this route come late Aug (as it indicates they will be on the site) when I'm flying PE. Fingers crossed.

GVYUM is next and is out of paint but hasn't done any test flights as yet, due to be delivered 31/5.

Damn, while looking at FlightAware I noticed that my flight from NYC in early June has been changed from a 787 to a 747

"Coincidentally" a Virgin flight out of LAX (that used to be a A340) became a 787 the day after the last 787 flight out of JFK. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/VIR7
