Greetings from the ... Newly opened lax clubhouse

As promised I luckily was here on opening day and found heaven in a almost. completed clubhouse in an incomplete t2.. The rest of t2 looks horrid. The clubhouse looks amazing. Pics to follow tomorrow as can't figure it out on the iPhone.

What isn't working is the showers but we are welcome to use air Canada for those in meantime. The actual terminal shower will be in shortly.

The menu is from a local la restaurant specialising in fish. I can recommend the tuna and crab dishes at this point along with a cocktail called the penncillin. Clearly it fixes lots including sober passengers. The rest of the clubhouse London menu is present including the famous redhead.

Hope all well and I'm not sparking too much jealousy

I am soo jealous lol.

I didn't see any showers in the AC lounge (Sunday) - and I did look!

Agree - the rest of t2 is an absolute mess - what on earth are they doing?

Massively renovating it and turning it into a shopping mall (Westfield are involved).

Are children allowed in?

We're there in a couple of weeks

All CHs allow children if they're eligible for access ( by means of being an UC passenger or guest of someonelse).

Facebook comments rather unkindly suggesting that the fitting look a bit like diy from IKEA!
Looking forward to some vflyer reports!

Just missed it! I was there 26th April. Was told it would be at least a week before it opened. Ended up in the Loft again. Certainly happy I won't have to use it again.
No newspapers / magazines. Front desk directed me downstairs to Hudsons so I could buy some. Coffee machine broken. Told there was a Starbucks downstairs if I wanted coffee. No, they weren't offering a voucher, I'd have to buy it.
Looking forward to trying the new lounge - at last!

Not sure what to think of it. As a place to sit comfortably its a bit of a mess, looks great and reminiscent of Bungalow Bill's, but try to use a laptop and there's nowhere to sit comfortably except perhaps the restaurant area.

Looks good:

Has nice views (the VS23 just got tugged in):

Drinks and food portions are tiny, but the staff are very attentive so more are coming. However, if you want to eat I strongly suggest moving to the dining area and sitting properly, a lot of the food is served on slate and wood boards, some of it is runny, and frankly it's ill thought out and bits of juice and food tend to fall all around you.

Seems to be a problem with over chilled air conditioning, several people around me have been given, and are wearing, blankets ... not a very premium thing methinks!

I'm a little nostalgic for the NZ Koru Club.

Thanks for the photos slinky.

Does look a little, errr, bland? (for a Virgin lounge)
