One thing I noticed here is that if airlines are using Ipads as a means of saving weight and using less fuel but pilots are still taking the paperwork on board surely that fuel saving is no longer there. I just hope the airlines haven't calculated much less fuel needed based on this. I know there is contingency but surely if the pilot is taking both the Ipad and paperwork that eats into the new contingency level!

The saving on fuel on an individual flight is marginal at best but over a year is not.

Though tbh I think those calculations are pretty much guesses anyway and more for pr.

It's the pilots who get the real benefit in not having to lug it around with them!
