Fare buckets etc

I love fare buckets.

I have just booked a holibobs to St Lucia via VH online and the quote came up as £xxxx with Economy flights.

Interestingly it was £85.24 cheaper if I took the outbound in Upper.

It really would have been rude to refuse.
The things I have to suffer.
Snigger.

What fare code was it giving you for economy?

It did not say Blacky. The VH site just showed class options

Very jealous. I rang up today to see if I could bag an upgrade for my flight on Saturday. I was told it was £1,178 to go from PE to UC for the outbound leg!

What about a mileage upgrade I asked? I have the required miles. Sure, that should only be a couple of hundred pounds plus the miles.

Then I got put on hold.

Total cost of the miles upgrade? £1,256 plus 10,000 miles.

Resigned to sitting in a completely full PE cabin now even though there's tons of availability in UC :( Curse my ignorance of what a K fare actually was before booking it.

Just the eight and a half hours.

In fact the cost for the two of us, UC out, PE back came out at a total of £234.76 (ie £117.38 a head) more than the quoted price for Economy both ways!!

Seems like a good deal I thought, with considerable understatement.

Have you stayed there before. It is wonderful, just wonderful. I can see why they upgrade was cheaper than the economy flight - to keep the Y pax away..... ii)

Honestly, you will love it.
