Not sure whether this has been mentioned, but I have heard that the V-Room Gatwick will be closed between February and November 2016 as Virgin are moving terminals.

I assume they are moving into BA's current home in the North, so lots of reconfiguring of that space to accommodate a new Clubhouse and V-Room possibly ?

I can only see information that the V-Room is closed between 5th February 2016 and 30th November 2016.
Can't see any mention of the Gatwick Club House.

Here:
http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/travel- ... nges/vroomDo we therefore assume that's where the new BA lounge will be? Probably not big enough on its own but if BA also took over the vaguely adjacent No.1 lounge and somehow knocked them through that would make a nice space.
No.1 could then take over the current Clubhouse.
Just speculating ...

Not sure if VA will get the BA site in the north, I was informed of this by Cabin Crew on my last VA flight

I imagine it will be very difficult for both carriers to swap terminals without impacting on lounge availability during the transition. If existing real estate is used and reconfigured there will surely have to be temporary lounge arrangements in place for both carriers during the transition. Will be interesting to see how both carriers handle this. As a BA ff as well as a VS one I'd like BA to just take over the CH, no changes required, although VS will have a big job improving the current BA offering!

The existing Clubhouse is nowhere near big enough for BA is it?
The current BA Club lounge must be twice as big. Then there's the First lounge as well, which rumours suggest won't exist any more come the big move. I'd have thought BA will need a lot more space and the South Terminal will need some major reconfiguring.

Given reports on the state of both First and Club lounges in Gatwick, even compared to the T5 offerings, I'd not think that too much effort will be put into any moved BA lounge...

Is there a confirmed date for the north / south terminal switch? I can imagine the chaos around that time and would like to avoid it...
