US VS credit card May miles/TPs posting

Just in case anyone else is experiencing delayed posting for this month: my credit card account monthly cycle closed on the 22nd, but my miles and TPs only posted today (29th).

However - rather cheekily ;) - the miles and TPs have posted to my FC account backdated to the 23rd!

Mine took a few extra days to post as well, I did chase them up with Bank of America and they stated they can take up to 8 weeks to post! Never have though they always appear within 24 hrs of the statement posting date

I've noticed that when the close is anywhere near a US public holiday (i.e. Memorial Day this time around), it can take up to a week for the miles/TPs to post instead of the usual 24 hours!

I'm a bit confused, as I know the UK credit cards only give miles and not tier points as far as I'm aware?

So how come there's a discrepancy between the 2 cards from both countries?

I guess because in America VS has to compete with the US airlines whose credit cards all offer TPs (or equivalent).

Different markets, different customer expectations, different rules.

yes, it's a dramatically better deal CC in the USA, because they have to compete with many entrenched carriers, and their programs. There was recently 95,000 point bonus for a VS card here! You had to spend $12,000 in 6 months, but for many, that's normal. Couple of those in the family, and you have a healthy balance!

I did contact VS with the suggestion that if they can't offer a like for like deal in their UK market, that they at least consider allowing customers to chose whether they would like TP or miles as rewards.

They said they would consider it as an option..... I guess the more people that suggest that as an option....
