Does anyone know why the VS15 was so late today. I checked flightstats.com and noticed it was on a rather strange route, taking over 10 hours! My friends are coming out to see me tomorrow on the 15 so hope this won't happen to them.

I was on the VS15 on 23rd May operated by 'Ladybird' and the flight took 9hrs 50mins due to a technical issue which meant we had to fly slower than normal.

I could be wrong but as the flight was once again operated by 'Ladybird' yesterday I wonder if the same issue has arisen again. I was waiting on the VS76 last night as the VS15 pulled up alongside.

Hope that helps.

Interestingly the return VS16 has taken about an hour longer than the VS28 for example too so I would suspect the same technical issue has arisen. Clearly not a major issue but just means a slower speed.

I wonder if this is an ongoing issue with G-VAST. The 15 (operated by VAST) today left within a few minutes of the VS27, yet the 27 gets in 75 minutes earlier.

Is it just on a go-slow until its next maintenance? it seems odd.

It seems very odd. I did think after the VS15/16 on 23rd May the issue seemed to have been resolved but seems to have reoccurred again, even if it was fixed in the first place.

It felt strange leaving a few mins before the BA2039 on the 23rd May but that arrived over an hour ahead of us. Clearly very safe to operate and nothing to be concerned about, but seems strange.

Just to add the pilot said the winds were "so bad" that they would have to take different paths and navigate around. Funny that the flight back VS16 took a lot longer too, which would never be the case if the "strong" headwinds really existed or did they change direction all of a sudden at the same time 4 days running?

Also have a look at June 1st VS27 did the same route at the exact same time as it was delayed. But got there about 2 hours earlier, it's impossible for it to be headwinds.

I am seriously considering what to do next regarding Virgin as our safety had to be at risk if there was any fault at all with the plane. This is pretty serious!

You've already discussed this here

However you do have a valid concern that the pilot told a white lie, which is understandable given the circumstances.

Whatever the issue was I do not believe your safety was at risk but perhaps an email/letter to Virgin HQ will put your mind at rest.
