Is the UC Suite on the 787 the same seat as the A330? I much prefer the original UC Suite on the A340 as the foot rest actually fits two feet as well as a companion for dinner. Given a choice between the original 340 UC seat and the A330 I much prefer the original.

No, not at all

The 787 UC is really just a slightly refined and slightly more polished version of the original Upper Class Suite.

VS quickly realised that the A330 version of the UCS wasn't going down well with anyone so they more or less went back to the original design.
