Virgin Atlantic partner Tier Points

Hi all

I will be flying Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy in March 2016 from LHR-ATL-MSY-LAX and returning back to LHR.
What I would like to know is would I earn tier points by flying with Virgin America from LAX to SFO as I'm considering in purchasing a separate ticket from Virgin America whilst I'm in LAX, I realised that I'm only 2 points short to get my silver status.

Also would I need to sign up with Virgin America or would I be fine in just buying the ticket and keeping all receipts.

Any info will be much appreciated. :)

Hi and welcome.

Yes, you'd earn 1 TP in economy or 2 in First.

No need to sign up with Virgin America, just enter your VS FC number on the website when you book and the miles & TPs should credit automatically a few days after the flight. Keep your e-ticket & boarding pass though, just in case they don't and you need to submit a claim.

BTW if your internal flights from ATL-MSY and MSY-LAX are on Delta you'll earn VS miles & TPs for them as well.

The fare difference on DL from economy to F on that route is minimal - often only about $50 or so - but will get you 3 TP on VS
