Help - tier points - partner

First visit to the new forum - absolutely brilliant. Thank you for all the work - it is genuinely appreciated.
Some help if possible please.
I booked and checked in LHR to KL, via Changi on Singapore. I do this because its nicer (!) and because one can earn miles/tier on SQ provided the booking is on an SQ flight, not SILK AIR (I'm sure you all know this!).
Out all ok on SQ321, booked onward SIN -KL on SQ118 (deliberate on my part and it was authorised connection). We were held over SIN so no chance on the connection. Re-booked onward by Singapore with no fuss, but it's a SILK AIR flight.
LHR - SIN on SQ is 5 tier in business
SIN - KL on SQ is 3 tier in business, but nothing if on SILK AIR (fantastic way to pick up cheap tiers!)
Obvious question, anyone know if I will still get the 3 tier/miles for SIN/KL despite being shunted to a non-qualifying flight.? I might actually need them this time!
Thank you and sorry for long explaination

I doubt it, but give it a go! During some awful weather in the US, DL once re-booked me on AA domestic, and I missed out on 3 TPs.
I did try and explain the situation to VS, but partner TPs - this was the situation three years ago, anyway - are awarded by sector depending on metal actually flown. I did get some miles, though
Let us know you get on!

You would need to contact SQ as they are the ones that moved you and are responsible for giving you the TPs
it will be their decision not VSs whether to give you the TPs but a direct request might be better than doing it via VS but they would still contact SQ who might still say no.

Just reporting back -.......
Still negotiating, but they have not yet said no. The issue seems to be whose "fault" it was that I missed the connection and so missed the earning flight.
I stressed that I had made a deliberate choice and that the fare was greater than the non-earning flight.

Final update
Tier points and miles refused by SQ for the changed flight. - only a few miles by 3 TP
I was thinking of complaining direct to SQ, especially as I booked the SQ flight (rather than the Silk Air alternative precisely because it earns. And the SQ flight is more expensive. (Just made the same booking again)
Advice?
Thanks

Further to this - I contacted SQ customer service at start July.
A holding email as they were busy. Contacted again in sept and Nov and still no reply.
Now over 6 months. They could just say "no" - or anything!
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

Further to all of this, and as a tip for the future. SQ finally accepted that if the change of metal is due to their delay, they will credit the TP and miles even if the change is to an otherwise non-earning flight. It's taken a long time, and many emails to SQ customer service - but I'm grateful to them. And thanks for all the advice received
(Did'nt even need the TP - but I became obsessed!)

Well done! Just shows that persistence is key. Now just make sure they're credited ;)
