Delay Compensation Vouchers - extending life

Received £1800 in vouchers for delay on a recent flight on a family trip, they state they must be used and travel completed within 18 months.

I clearly didn't have my reading head on at the time as my intention was to use these for a trip in August 2017.

Has anyone ever had the lifetime of the vouchers extended? I've emailed Virgin asking but not received a reply as yet two weeks on.

Kicking myself as i could easily have waited out 6-12 months before putting in the claim.

Did you get the voucher because at the time you agreed to be bumped off the flight? If it was a just a delay you had no choice in then you would have usually had to claim under the EU regulations and would then have received cash. The red select vouchers are usually given to pax who agree to be bumped/delayed and are offered a compensation deal at the time, which if this was the case then I think it unlikely VS will agree to extend the length.

It was delay compensation for a 5 hour delay Virgin offer either €600 in cash for delays or £600 if you take it in Virgin Vouchers.

Okay - I still think they won't extend the vouchers, but I guess you've asked the question and will just have to wait for their reply then.
