VIA DUBLIN Cheaper Tickets Help Please

Hi All,

I was hoping for some help please.

I am hoping to book tickets with Virgin Atlantic from Heathrow to Las Vegas in Upper Class.

Looking to fly out 5th April and fly back on 12th.

Can someone who is good with this please help me with my booking. I am booking for 5 people and really don't want to get it wrong.

I can't find a website where I can put this deal together.

- Fly to Dublin 4th April
- Have Lunch
- Fly Back same day
- Go Home and pack, sleep.
- Wake up and fly from Heathrow on 5th April
- Fly back to Heathrow on 12th April
- Transfer to Gatwick
- Then fly from GATWICK to Dublin so we can collect our bags and not make the final leg

I can't put this together anywhere to get a quote.

Can someone help please?

Sure... I've switched LHR for LGW as that's where VS fly from. The issue you're going to have is that you're buying half the UC cabin. When you price this for one or two people the price is reasonable but when you enter in 5, it rockets.

Anyway, for ease I've uploaded a video for you so you can just follow the steps: http://we.tl/Hm35dMW36e

Not entirely what you asked for but the cheapest way to do this for 5 adults flying in a business cabin would be:

Hi there,

Have a look at this link, this seems to fit your needs.

Remember Virgin fly from Gatwick to Las Vegas, not Heathrow. So you will be wanting the final sector to originate from LHR...Also it seems I can only get this itinerary to work by flying DUB-LHR, instead of LGW...but if you're going home anyway I guess it doesn't matter, may be even more convenient depending on your location.

Also, the LON-DUB sector is something you need to book separately, this can be done very cheaply with Ryanair, Aer Lingus etc...Just make sure you give yourself enough time to connect.

If you want to change the DUB-LHR flight to an earlier one, other itineraries are listed

Edit : Just realised this was for 5 people. Unfortunately you're out of luck if you want to fly Virgin, as only 2 tickets are currently left at the price in the link.

Never knew you could send those links... Much easier than a video!

If you want 5 seats on the same flight at a decent price you'll probably have to go BA (who do fly from LHR to Vegas).

There are only 14 seats in the entire UC cabin on the 747s Virgin use on the Vegas route, and I suspect fewer than half will be available in the cheapest fare bucket (in your case, it seems, there are only 2 left). Once they're sold, the fare shoots up.

BA have a much larger business class cabin so they may have better availability.

Indeed, looking on the ITA matrix, you can't get 5 seats on Virgin for the entire month of April, so BA is the way!

Looking at those links above, there are only 2 tix in the Z fare bucket available. After that it jumps to I fare bucket.

Hi All,

Happy to fly with BA but can't find any direct flights with BA for under £2500.

Feel like I'm doing something wrong again.

Hmmm, I can get it to price at £1,164 pp here

The catch is only the return will be direct LAS-LHR on BA.

It's showing you'll have to fly out on BA to Chicago then connect with American Airlines (still all in business class).

I think that's the best you're going to get....

The LHR-DUB sector is the day after arrival, so no problems with baggage.

£2194 pp if you want direct to both ways.

Not sure if you mind connecting, but with a group of 5, the savings are even more extraordinary, so I would!

Edit : corrected link for 5 people.

Very annoyed I didn't book this two weeks ago when it was direct for the same money.

I guess the key is to book as early as possible.

If you really wanted to fly Virgin, you could of course do an ex-DUB to LAX, and just book a connecting return flight to Vegas...That's what I'd personally do, but that's just because I think UC is so superior to Club.

I just checked and 5 seats are available to LAX on your dates.

It is also worth remembering that your dates coincide with the last week of the school Easter holidays, so availability will be tight.

Getting 5 business class to anywhere long haul will always be a problem. It's not quite Easter though, so might be useful...

BA ended one a sale yesterday, so wasn't expecting much. Was suprised to find that if you route correctly, you can get there for 965 quid per person. AA DUB to JFK and JFK to LAS (reclining not lie flat, but good Tier Points for BA). I think the AA to JFK isn't quite recline, but not quite lie flat either. But interestingly you'd have 140+210+210+140=700 tps, also have the pleasure of pre clearance in Dublin... I paid 950 for PE last christmas direct from Gatwick...

Route it via Philadelphi (aa PHL aa on both routing codes) and you get actual lie flat as well. Not so sure about Tier Points though. People talk of that aa type of flight being more BA first than Club.

I think its a massive ask to get 5 people in the 14 people Upper cabin on VS, so I'd expect maybe a few seats from Dublin, but all of 'em?

And VS don't fly to Vegas from Heathrow. BA do though.

If you click the link, it's already selected for 5.

Crazy how now there's suddenly 5 Zs available.

Hopefully the OP didn't book anything yesterday and sees this soon!

MASSIVE thank you to mikethe3rd for all of this help.

I booked 5 tickets this afternoon for the perfect dates and all direct.

Couldnt be happier right now. What a great community this is!

Really looking forward to lunch in Dublin too. Most of my family are Irish and I've not been there before so somewhere I wanted to go.

Normally only a certain number of Z fares are released per flight, there may not be any left on the same flight

If you mean add an extra person to the existing booking then that's not possible. It will have to be a separate ticket.

If you mean will the extra ticket be at the same price as the existing booking then it would depend if the same price is being offered!
