Is anyone familiar with combi fares?

Paid £377 for 3 reward flights (2A 1C) in PE from CUN-LGW, and trying to get an idea of what i'd be looking at for a cash fare LGW-CUN again 2 adults 1 child, probably going out in EC (would it be possible to upgrade using miles to PE? Guess its dependent on the code?)

How is it calculated?

The combifares are explained very well in the Virgin T&C - you pay half the rev fare and yes, if available, and you have the right fare code, you can upgrade with miles.

See Section 4.5 here http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/gb/en/fl ... miles.html

Thanks so to calculate a combi fare i simply look at the cost of two EC flights LGW-CUN and CUN-LGW and halve it and that's the cost i'd have to pay?

Does the fact the flight back is PE make a difference? What about the amount i paid cash for the CUN-LGW tickets?

Another Combi fare related question, I have CUN-LGW using miles, would i be able to book say LHR-MIA as the outward portion of a combi fare or does it have to be the same route?
