V-Flyer

I've got 3 PE reward tickets booked from CUN-LGW in August.

However despite checking regularly to the point its becoming a bit of an obsession I'm yet to see a single reward seat LGW-CUN for the month of August (or July for that matter).

I've just checked and every flight in August seems to show reward availability in the direction CUN-LGW is this normal for one direction to show but not the other?

I haven't seen much in the way of reward flights in July/August for that route. I guess with it being summer holidays on a tourist route they are holding off at the moment. They do start up again in September.

Another option is fly to Miami and if you have any avios built up do a hop from Miami to Cancun. Quite a short flight and doesnt require to much in the way of miles I think. I believe AA does that route with avios.

A second thought if you have plenty of VS miles would be fly to Atlanta and use Delta to fly to Cancun. You may want to call flying club for that one!

Yeah I have been looking at alternate routes, just thought it odd that there is such an abundance of flights in one direction but none the other way.

I've got the same query for next August, but for LGW-BGI flights. There appear to be reward seats on the BGI-LGW route, but nothing to get us out there! I know they do offer rewards for August, especially on the BGI flight as its a 32 seater in UC, but nothing so far. Hope you find out some answers. Going to try to call VS to see if they can shed any light on it, in case it's a computer glitch, so will report back if I find out anything! Good luck finding seats

NYC, don't know if you're able to do Miles Plus Money or book discounted seats, but I've just managed to get the seats I was looking for for next August at sale price. Nothing has been advertised I don't think, but it might be worth looking at depending on what you're after!

Still not seen a single reward available from LGW-CUN during Jul-Aug but still in reverse there's availability on every flight...

Well having checked at least half a dozen times a day and looked at alternate routes etc they finally appeared this morning, 3 X PE tickets on the exact date i wanted, chuffed that i got them during a sale as well, and used £300 of previous delay vouchers.

Well done.
It pays off to keep checking.
